How to get rid of migraines – What you need to keep in mind
Written by Susanne on September 17th, 2009
What are some of the best ways on how to get rid of migraines?
It’s hard to say but there’s tons of information this blog regarding that matter. Today I’d like to share a thought with you all though, something I was thinking about today while hanging out with an old friend.
We were enjoying some tea and then a subject came up. Now as someone who has been experiencing migraines and headaches for years I can tell you something – people don’t realize that medication won’t help them out.
They grab the bottle looking for salvation but honestly meds are not the way to go. They eat up your money and in the end you’re no closer to getting rid of your migraines then when you started.
That however isn’t the point of this story. While we were playing cards and drinking tea my friend said she was having a migraine come on. I told her to go drink a few cups of water and I knew she would be all right.
She complied even though she kept asking if I had an advil or tylenol. So about 20 seconds after she drank the water she INSTANTLY felt relief.
So relief is actually possible?
That’s right, that’s how to get rid of migraines. It’s as easy as drinking enough water to keep your body hydrated. I urge you to try it, it doesn’t have to be hard – really!
So that’s just a little banter I wanted to go on, I want you all to understand that getting rid of your migraines doesn’t mean suffering and feeling like your head is going to explode.
As soon as you get those ‘pre’ feelings, I’m talking about the nausea, dizzyness or sensitivity to light, drink a few cups of water and lay down. See if this does it for you – it definitely did it for Diane today.
Anyways, take care! And fight the migraines!

hi Susanne, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment on my blog. Good tips on migraines. I know that drinking plenty of fresh water and getting fresh air can also help quite a bit in some instances.
Nice blog you have.
take care,
Bill
Hi there~
I used to get migraines, but they went away when I stopped drinking red wine. Easy cure! I was very lucky with that!
Anyway, you visited my site and left a comment, but I have had a mishap with my comment system and lost them! They still show up under recent but they are gone if you click on them, so I am wondering if you would leave me a comment again? Please? I am new and comments are important to my blog.

Thanks for the information, and pointing me towards that wonderful resource.
I got one of these ocular migraines last night and I thought I was going blind!! or that I had something wrong with my brain.
I had a stange visual disturbance with it, it was like a flashing yellow and orange circle with lots of triangles around the edges. The hallucination lasted about 15 mins… 30 mins later came the unbearable pain which I still have a bit now.
I went straight to bed and the pain had almost gone today, it’s just lingering in the background now. Sleep is definitely something that helps to get rid of them.
Cheers!
Paul.
